Local Spring Flower Inspiration in Minnesota

If you're planning a beautiful spring wedding in Minnesota or the Midwest, you're in luck when it comes to flowers. There are plenty of seasonal blooms that are perfect for adding color, texture, and fragrance to your special day. In this post, we'll share some of our favorite spring blooms that are both beautiful and sustainable.

First up, let's talk about the classic spring bloom: the tulip. Tulips come in a wide range of colors, from pale pastels to bright pinks and even burgundy. They're also easy to find locally, as many tulip farms are located in the Midwest. Tulips are generally available from April-May.

Another great spring bloom to consider is the peony. This bold beauty also comes in so many different colors and shapes and is a staple in any spring wedding. Here in Minnesota, these blooms are available from June-July. My favorites varieties are the Clair de Lune and Sarah Bernhardt. One of my favorite things about peonnies are their fragrance. It is the epitome of spring to me :)

Speaking of fragrance, another great spring bloom to consider is the lilac. Typically these blooms are typically either white or shades of purple. Blooming from May-July in Minnesota.

An underrated favorite of mine is the daffodil. These sunny yellow, peach, and white flowers are a symbol of spring and new beginnings, making them a fitting choice for a wedding. Daffodils are also a sustainable choice, as they're grown from bulbs that can be replanted and reused. These beauties bloom from April-May.

If you're looking for a more unique bloom, consider the ranunculus. These delicate flowers have layers of petals that come in a range of colors, from soft pinks to bright oranges. Ranunculus are often used in bridal bouquets and centerpieces, and they're a great way to add a pop of color and texture to your wedding. These bloom from April-June.

No matter what blooms you choose, if you’re getting married in the spring, your wedding florals will be to die for. Especially if they are coming from local farms :)

Other incredible MN spring blooms I can never get enough of — Spirea, Sweet Pea, Forsythia, Iris, Anemone, Cherry Blossoms, Hyacinth, Alliums, & Lily of the Valley.
