Hannah is a luxury wedding floral designer based out of the Twin Cities, who specializes in intentional garden-inspired designs by using romantic and high-quality seasonal blooms. As an environmentalist at heart, she chooses local, chemical free flowers as much as possible, that not only reduce the carbon footprint, but also help local pollinators.

My Story

My love of flowers and nature first appeared at a very young age when I lived in Champlin, MN, right on the edge of Elm Creek Park Reserve. I spent countless hours outside in my backyard, taking pictures, playing with frogs and snakes, and picking wildflowers. I was covered in bug bites, filthy with dirt, and branding the biggest smile. I have always loved the environment, and actually have a undergrad and master’s degree in environmental science. Nature > everything else.

My story took a turn in June 2020 when I opened this romantically inspired floral design business. Fast forward a few years, I get work with the most amazing clients and vendors for their modern and sophisticated weddings and events & it is incredible.

In April 2021 my husband (Peter) and I purchased 17 acres in Medina, MN and plan to start a produce and flower farm in hopes to grow our local small farming communities and allow access to healthy produce and pretty flowers. Follow @minnefarmco on Instagram for updates! We also welcomed our first child, Daphne, in December is 2021.

Things to Know —

No. 1

Minne Floral Co. is a sustainable & eco-conscious floral design business. All materials can be used more than once, floral foam free. Floral waste (stems, leaves, old flowers) goes to compost to feed my garden for future seasons.

No. 2

In addition to desiging florals, I am also a photographer and farmer. Check out my work - Hannah Ampe Photography if you’re looking for a family or newborn photographer and Minne Farm Co. for our work on the farm.

No. 3

1% of profits go to saving our pollinators -- think bumbles and butterflies. In 2021 and 2022 we made our donation to the Xerces Society. In 2023 we became a member of One Percent for the Plant and plan to donate 1% of our revenue moving forward.

No. 4

I understand that each wedding and event is unique and it is our goal give you stunning florals within your budget. That being said, we have a minimum of $7k for each wedding. We can always save money by repurposing arrangements and strategically deciding what designs are going to make the biggest statement.

No. 5

Buying local means our flowers spend less time traveling during their peak bloom time, and more time filling your wedding with their aromas and beauty. It also helps support our local communities and reduce our carbon footprint.

No. 6

Using seasonal blooms is a great way to save money, but also to get the best and prettiest blooms! That being said most focal blooms (garden roses, dahlias, peonies, ranunculus) will be more expensive regardless of season.

Hannah’s Garden(s)

I moved every year during the summer from 2011 to 2017 (college & grad school), so I was never able to garden. I think all of those years without a garden have made me a little crazy in trying to make up for lost time .When my husband, Peter, and I bought our first home in April 2019, Peter made me a wonderful 10x4ft raised bed where I grew peppers of all kinds, carrots, lettuces, tomatoes, etc. My life was complete. Or so I thought. In 2020, again my phenomenal husband added to my raised bed and gave me another 8x4ft garden to add broccoli, cucumbers, and green beans to my ever growing list of veggies. Also in the spring of 2020 I tore up some unused space on the south side of my house and added a cutting garden. Now my life is complete. I am hoping that in 2024 I will have expanded my cutting garden and be able to support and sell chemical free, local, and sustainable flowers to other florists!
